Fox Circling J. Blakeson for Wool Adaptation

The self-published hit sci-fi novel Wool was picked up by 20th Century Fox earlier this year from author Hugh Howey. And now it sounds like the studio is moving forward with the project and is currently circling one director in particular.

According to Vulture, Fox is in negotiations with writer-director J Blakeson to helm the feature. The filmmaker is perhaps best known for his indie thriller The Disappearance of Alice Creed, which hit Tribeca in 2010.

Since its release, Wool has become Amazon's 29th best-selling Kindle e-book and its 30th best-selling fiction book for 2012. Ridley Scott and Steve Zaillian will produce the adaptation.
