Rumored Star Wars Director Colin Trevorrow Denies Involvement In Episode VII While Simultaneously Encouraging More Rumors

Safety Not Guaranteed director Colin Trevorrow has been among the many names that are rumored to be up for the Star Wars: Episode VII helming gig since the Disney/Lucasfilm acquisition news first broke last month. And now Trevorrow has addressed those rumors, denying his involvement in the first film in the trilogy.

Star Wars Prequels Producer Rick McCallum Retires

The Hollywood Reporter spoke to the director, who explicitly said he will not be helming Episode VII. But the trade also notes that "he wasn't keen to talk about the series any further," meaning he didn't deny that he might be involved with Episodes VIII or IX.

In any case, I'd say it's safe to expect an actual director announcement from Lucasfilm soon -- possibly by the end of the year.
