MLB 13: The Show Cross-Buy “Still to be Determined”

It was just yesterday that Sony officially revealed MLB 13: The Show for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. We knew it was coming – The Show is the most popular baseball videogame franchise in the world – but now we know for sure that it’ll be released Stateside on March 5, 2013.

What we didn’t know, however, is whether MLB 13: The Show would take advantage of Sony’s vaunted cross-buy program, in which gamers get the Vita version of a game for free when buying the PS3 iteration (or, conceivably, vice-versa). MLB 12: The Show was the very first game to employ cross-saving between Vita and PS3, but players, unfortunately, had to buy both versions separately, hitting their wallet hard.

I wanted to know what Sony’s plan was, so I asked. A representative got back to me, telling me that whether or not MLB 13: The Show will utilize cross-buy or not “is still to be determined.” However, he also noted that “a complete answer” to the question will be forthcoming “by the new year.”

Did you purchase MLB 12: The Show on PlayStation 3 and/or PlayStation Vita earlier this year? Are you interested in cross-buy saving you some cash during your next go-around with The Show? Let us know in the comments below… I’m sure Sony’s listening.
